One Lily - Watercolor by Marcy Brennan

One Lily - Watercolor

Today, my husband and I toured through McKee Botanical Gardens in Vero Beach, FL.  The water lilies were on display in all their glory in every pond at the gardens.  We also caught the Dinosaurs exhibited throughout the gardens.  They're incredibly life-like and are on display through May 1st.  It's a great place to take the kids!

Here's a short video of the main pond with it's beautiful stone bridge and huge amount of water lilies and lily pads:

While the original is not for sale because I painted it in my little watercolor sketchbook, prints, apparel and lots of other items may be purchased with this image on them at my Red Bubble and Fine  Art America sites.

Here are some of the fun items with this image on them:

Here are some of the photos I took at the gardens to:

See the dinosaurs on the log?

Ode to Spring - Acrylic Abstract Painting by Marcy Brennan

Ode to Spring - 20"x20" Acrylic on Canvas - $350

This is an acrylic abstract in all the colors of spring.  It has lots of texture and lively brush strokes.

The 3/4" edges are painted black and it is wired and ready to hang.  However, it would look wonderful set in a black floater frame.

Key West Cottages 1 & 2 - Abstract Expressionist Paintings by Marcy Brennan

Key West Cottages 1 - 36"x24" Acrylic on Canvas - $600

Key West Cottages 2 - 36"x24" Acrylic on Canvas - $600

$600 each or both for $1100

These two paintings start out as abstracts.  Then I began to notice square areas and that's when the cottages started taking place.  They needed some palm trees and flowers, so these two fun an colorful paintings took on a life of their own!

The 1.5" edges are painted black and they are wired and ready to hang without a frame.

Bring some of the tropics into your home with Key West Cottages.

An Art Quote and a New Is Baby Coming!

What a lovely thought.  When we sell a piece of art, a piece of the artist goes with it. I don't know about other artists, but I always find it hard to give up one of my "babies."  But I then think, well I'm an artist, I can make more, and so I'm glad my baby has found a loving home. 🌞

And speaking of babies, I've got a brand new grandson on the way tonight. I'm ensconced here in the birthing room with my daughter and son-in-law. Things are moving at a snails pace, but we are hoping some time in the early morning hours, we will all finally get to meet Zakkary Ryan Duffy.  No more guessing and looking at fuzzy 3D ultrasound images. We will be seeing his sweet little face in person!

I'd love to be painting in my little Moleskine watercolor sketchbook with my Koi field sketchbox, but it's too dark in here and I'm rather fatigued. So I'll leave you with the picture of my last painting in my book that I finished up yesterday. They are trumpet flowers with magenta Bougainvilleas peeking through the background.

It's looking like SPRING in my studio!
New for spring - works in progress

My palette and one of the two new paintings in progress.
I use all Golden acrylics professional artist quality paints except for the white paint you see. I just love the viscosity of the Basics white paint. It's too luscious not to use and mixes so well with the Golden paints.

Hoping to finish these this weekend for the new Loft Gallery show going up for next Wednesday's Art Walk.
