New Mexico Village Church

New Mexico Village Church - 8" x 10" Oil on Masonite

I painted this little church on Route 50 between Santa Fe and Las Vegas, NM years ago in pastels.  At the time I took the first photo, this picturesque little church had a turquoise roof.  The next time we drove by it, someone had put a new red roof on it.  My favorite color is turquoise, but I decided to paint this with the red roof and added much more reds and pinks in the building than are actually there.  I decided to stay true to the roof color and use some artistic flair on the building.

Pecos National Monument, New Mexico

Pecos Monument, NM - 8" x 10" Oil on Masonite

New Mexico is full of wonderfully picturesque ruins, old buildings and old churches.  I took this photo many years ago with the intention of painting it, but my good  intentions took a bit longer than I'd planned.

Embudo Canyon - New Mexico by Marcy Brennan

8" x 10" Oil on Masonite Panel

This is one of my favorite drives - Embudo Canyon - between Santa Fe and Taos, NM.  When my husband and I lived in New Mexico, we loved taking this drive to Taos.  The Rio Grande River flows through this narrow, verdant valley and there are a number of picturesque villages along the way.  There was a great little restaurant half-way into the valley called Embuo Station, set amist the cottonwood trees, where we would often stop for lunch if we timed our trip right.

Caribbean Island by Marcy Brennan

14" x 18" Oil on Canvas Panel

This was painted from a photo taken by my friend Linda Glass.  She and her husband cruised the Caribbean and I thought this scene was so beautiful, I just had to paint it.
