Tuscan Sunflowers by Marcy Brennan

Sunflowers are my daughter's favorite flowers so I painted this for her and just never ended up giving it to her.  That's OK, she has lots of my other paintings! ;-)

Pansy Beauties by Marcy Brennan

24" x 30" Oil on Canvas - SOLD

I painted this in a class I took with a wonderful teacher in the Atlanta area named Gloria Perkins.  This was her design and color palette and I had such a wonderful day with her and the other ladies taking the class.  I did this "alla prima" - that is all in one session (about four hours).  I got lost trying to find her studio and missed the first two hours of painting time, but once I got started, everything just flowed!  My sister fell in love with this and made me sell it to her, but when I visit her (which is often), I still get to enjoy this painting that gives me such wonderful memories of a beautiful day of painting.

Seagull on Causeway Beach by Marcy Brennan

9" x 12" Oil on Canvas Panel

This is a plein air painting I started on Causeway Beach at the Fort Pierce Inlet.  As I'm a novice plein air painter, it tickled me to have two ladies come up behind me saying to each other, "Look, that lady is painting!"  They apparently had never come across someone painting on site.  It was kind of exciting.  The weather turned chilly and the wind picked up before I could finish this, but having been there allowed me to really capture what I was feeling once back in my studio.  I'd been standing in the shade of these palm trees, so I came home and pulled out some photos of them to add them and create my focal point for this painting.  I couldn't resist adding a sweet little seagull to the composition.

Anniversary Memories by Marcy Brennan

24" x 30" Oil on Gallery Canvas

I painted this for my own dining room.  I snapped a photo of the remains of a nice dinner with my brother and his wife at one of our favorite restaurants where they were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary.  I just had to capture the wonderful memories of that meal on canvas!

Garden Gate by Marcy Brennan

Garden Gate - 9" x 11" Oil on Canvas Panel - $150

This is the second plein air painting I did at Art Mundo's Hackberry Hammock Artists' Day out west of Fort Pierce, FL.  I couldn't resist standing in the shade (where it was cool) and painting this rusty old picturesque gate!

Potting Shed by Marcy Brennan

9" x 12" Oil on Canvas Panel

This is a plein air painting I did at Art Mundo's Hackberry Hammock Artists' Day out west of Fort Pierce, FL.  It was a gorgeous, picture-perfect day.  The dappled light across the road and lawn and all the colorful flowers surrounding the potting shed drew me to this scene.

Pansy Bouquet by Marcy Brennan

15" x 11" Watercolor on Paper

These purple and blue pansies were a delight to paint.  I did this painting in a watercolor class at our local art association awhile back.  Lots of fun playing with all the beautiful blues, purples and greens!
