Morning Mists Oil and Cold Wax Abstract by Marcy Brennan

Morning Mists, 20" x 20" oil and cold wax on cradled birch board - $950

This painting is one in a series of four 20" x 20" oil and cold wax paintings on cradled birch boards.  The 2" edges of the boards are left natural with a clear protective varnish. They are all abstract designs.  The colors are inspired by the waters and tropical foliage of the Indian River that surrounds the area where I live on Hutchinson Island, FL.  These works have many layers of paint and colors and various types of textures that added depth and interest to the pieces.

Rosy Faces by Marcy Brennan

Rosy Faces - Abstract Expressionist Acrylic on 24" x 24" x 1.5" gallery canvas - $500

The first few layers on this painting started out as a total abstract, but I decided to develop it into a fantasy rose garden and submit it to the February 2014 "Sweet Art" show at Art Mundo.  I used all my favorite colors in this one:  aquas for the pond in the bottom right corner, pinks for the roses and bright greens for the grasses and leaves.  It was such a joy painting this one!

Abstract - Heart Beat #1 by Marcy Brennan

Abstract - Heart Beat #1 by Marcy Brennan - 12" x 12" acrylic on gallery canvas
Sides are painted and it's ready to hang with or without a frame - $150

I'm always inspired by colors of the water and this one just flowed.  It needed a pop and thus the red circle.  Reminded me of hearts beating.  Thus the name.  I did 3 more smaller abstracts in same colors with the red heart beat and will be posting them over the next few days.
