An Art Quote and a New Is Baby Coming!

What a lovely thought.  When we sell a piece of art, a piece of the artist goes with it. I don't know about other artists, but I always find it hard to give up one of my "babies."  But I then think, well I'm an artist, I can make more, and so I'm glad my baby has found a loving home. 🌞

And speaking of babies, I've got a brand new grandson on the way tonight. I'm ensconced here in the birthing room with my daughter and son-in-law. Things are moving at a snails pace, but we are hoping some time in the early morning hours, we will all finally get to meet Zakkary Ryan Duffy.  No more guessing and looking at fuzzy 3D ultrasound images. We will be seeing his sweet little face in person!

I'd love to be painting in my little Moleskine watercolor sketchbook with my Koi field sketchbox, but it's too dark in here and I'm rather fatigued. So I'll leave you with the picture of my last painting in my book that I finished up yesterday. They are trumpet flowers with magenta Bougainvilleas peeking through the background.

Beach Holiday - 30"x30" Abstract on gallery canvas - $750

This is the second painting in my beach series with more to come!

Lots of beautiful blues and greens that will bring your senses right to the beach!!

Purchase the original and prints here.

It's looking like SPRING in my studio!
New for spring - works in progress

My palette and one of the two new paintings in progress.
I use all Golden acrylics professional artist quality paints except for the white paint you see. I just love the viscosity of the Basics white paint. It's too luscious not to use and mixes so well with the Golden paints.

Hoping to finish these this weekend for the new Loft Gallery show going up for next Wednesday's Art Walk.

This is a lively and colorful abstract in cool colors that will enhance any space with this color scheme.  Unlike realism, there is always something new to notice in an abstract painting.  Also, abstract paintings can be hung in any direction, giving you an entirely new painting each time you turn it on the wall.

If you love blues and green, this painting is for you!  It's like having the beach in your home!!!

The 1.5" deep edges are painted black and it is wired and ready to hang without a frame.

"Ancient Ruins" - Acrylic Painting on Canvas by Marcy Brennan

Ancient Ruins - 30"x30"x1.5" Acrylic on Canvas - $750

This began as a totally abstract painting and some ruins emerged as I painted it!
I used to live in New Mexico, and my husband and I visited many ancient Anasazi ruins.
As this painting progressed, it began to remind me of these ruins, thus the name for the piece,
Ancient Ruins.

This was painted on a 1.5" deep gallery wrapped canvas with the edges painted black.
It is wired and ready to hang with or without a frame.
