This is the second in a series of four oil and cold wax paintings on cradled birch panels. In working this series, I returned to my love of the colors of the waters that surround us where my husband and I live on beautiful Hutchinson Island, Florida. In working the final stages of the paintings, I began adding corals to the blues on two of the pieces, and as I added some textures to the pieces, they reminded me of underwater coral, thus the name for the series. This work has a feeling of sky, water and coral under the water.
